Recently, spy photos of the all-new BMW M3 (codenamed G84) undergoing road testing have surfaced, with the model expected to launch in 2028. The most significant update is the addition of a 48V mild-hybrid system, paired with the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six S58 engine. The base version is anticipated to produce around 525 horsepower, while higher trims could reach up to 560 horsepower. The mild-hybrid system is integrated into the transmission, primarily enhancing efficiency and throttle response. Notably, the six-speed manual gearbox will be discontinued entirely, with an eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive becoming standard across the entire lineup. Exterior-wise, the new M3 adopts BMW’s next-generation design language, featuring a redesigned front fascia with elongated horizontal kidney grilles and dual LED headlights. The sides incorporate flush-fitting door handles, while the rear retains quad exhaust tips and a rear spoiler. It also features drilled brake discs, M-specific calipers, and bespoke alloy wheels.
