Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun recently unveiled the company's newly built six-degree-of-freedom environmental simulation laboratory for Xiaomi Auto. This facility can replicate the complex six-directional vibrations—comprising lateral, longitudinal, and vertical translations and rotations—that vehicles experience on rough roads. Using a high-frequency multi-axis simulation test rig and load spectrum data, it accurately mimics real-world harsh road conditions. Additionally, the testing environment can simultaneously apply temperature variations from -40°C to 90°C, along with humidity and lighting conditions, to comprehensively validate the durability of critical components under extreme cold and heat. Leveraging fatigue acceleration technology, the lab can simulate the equivalent damage of 300,000 kilometers of real-world driving within just two weeks, significantly enhancing R&D validation efficiency. Currently, Xiaomi Auto has established over 150 specialized laboratories across Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Wuhan, forming a nationwide R&D and testing network.
