Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun recently announced that Xiaomi Auto has established a six-degree-of-freedom environmental simulation laboratory, enabling efficient validation of the durability of critical vehicle components. The system uses a "road simulator" to replicate complex vibration excitations experienced by vehicles on rough roads, covering translational and rotational movements in lateral, longitudinal, and vertical directions. Combined with a high-frequency multi-axis simulation test rig and load spectrum data iteration technology, it accurately simulates real-world severe operating conditions. The testing environment can also integrate temperature ranges from -40°C to 90°C, along with humidity and light exposure, to comprehensively evaluate component reliability under extreme climates. Leveraging fatigue acceleration technology, the system can replicate the equivalent damage of 300,000 kilometers of real-world driving in just two weeks, significantly enhancing development and validation efficiency. Currently, Xiaomi has built over 100 in-house laboratories across Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Wuhan, operates two full-vehicle test tracks in Guangde, Anhui, and Yancheng, Jiangsu, and employs a testing team of more than 800 people.
