On February 5, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), released data showing that Xiaomi Auto has made its debut on the global automaker sales ranking for 2025, securing the 33rd position with approximately 410,000 vehicles sold and a market share of 0.4%. As a new-energy vehicle brand in only its second year of operation, Xiaomi Auto has already entered the top 40 globally, demonstrating strong market penetration. Its success stems from stylish design, synergy within Xiaomi’s ecosystem, and precise targeting of younger consumers. Several of its models consistently rank among the top-selling new-energy vehicles in China each month. Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, previously stated the company aims to break into the world’s top five automakers within 15 to 20 years—a goal requiring annual sales exceeding 4.5 million units, more than ten times its current level—posing a significant challenge but with a clear strategic direction.
