Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. has recently filed a recall plan with China's State Administration for Market Regulation. Effective immediately, the company is recalling 24 imported 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid vehicles produced between July 24 and August 30, 2018. The recall is due to a manufacturing process issue that may have damaged the cathode of the traction battery cells, potentially causing the vehicle to lose its electric drive function. In extreme cases, this could lead to thermal runaway of the traction battery, posing a safety hazard. Jaguar Land Rover will replace the entire traction battery assembly free of charge for affected vehicles to eliminate the risk.
