The Wuhan Municipal People's Government recently signed an investment agreement with ChuNeng New Energy for the Phase II Wuhan ChuNeng 80 GWh new energy battery production project. With a total investment of approximately RMB 22 billion, the project will primarily construct production lines for power batteries, energy storage batteries, and battery PACK modules. According to the plan, construction is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2026, with production scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, further enhancing Wuhan’s manufacturing capacity and industrial layout in the new energy battery sector.
