Mazda's first competitive all-electric sedan—the Changan Mazda EZ-6 (marketed as the "6e" in the UK)—has recently launched in the British market. Offered exclusively in a rear-wheel-drive, single-motor configuration, it features a 78 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 560 km and a 10%-80% fast-charging time of just 24 minutes. The UK base price starts at £38,995 (approximately RMB 368,000), with the higher-spec Takumi Plus trim priced at £39,995. In contrast, the Chinese domestic starting price is only RMB 159,800, rising to RMB 181,800 for the top trim—making the UK version roughly 2.3 times more expensive than its Chinese counterpart. Despite the UK not imposing additional tariffs on Chinese-made vehicles (only a standard 10% import duty and 20% VAT apply), the pricing remains significantly higher than in China. Built on the Changan Deepal SL03 platform, the EZ-6 delivers 254 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, positioning it slightly above the entry-level Tesla Model 3.
