A mechanic using the online alias "Max" posted a video on social media claiming that, frustrated after a customer canceled a brake repair job at the last minute and went to a cheaper shop instead, he applied a high-strength threadlocker (Loctite Red 271) inside the customer's wheel assembly. This product is typically used to permanently secure metal fasteners, but applying it to wheel lug nuts could prevent tire removal in emergencies and even pose serious safety risks. The video quickly went viral, sparking intense debate online: some criticized the act as malicious sabotage that could lead to legal action, while others dismissed it as merely a "joke" or claimed it was done out of "safety concerns." However, most automotive professionals emphasized that properly torqued wheel lug nuts do not require additional adhesives—and that using such products could actually damage components or compromise driving safety. Max has not yet responded to media requests for comment.
