Recently, Weineng, a battery asset management joint venture between NIO and CATL, announced the completion of its Series C3 equity financing round, raising RMB 1 billion. This brings the total amount raised in its Series C round to nearly RMB 2 billion. The latest round attracted state-owned investors including Hefei Construction Investment Group and Hefei Economic Development Zone Investment, with existing shareholders also participating in the follow-on investment. To date, Weineng manages over 42 GWh of battery assets and serves more than 550,000 users. Since its establishment over five years ago, the company has focused on battery asset management and, as of the end of 2025, has filed 196 patents, approximately 60% of which are invention patents, with over 85% related to battery technologies. The new funding will be allocated toward expanding battery asset deployment, advancing technological R&D, and enhancing resource recycling capabilities—accelerating the industrialization of research outcomes and further strengthening the company’s service capacity and financial strength.
