On March 1, Xiaomi Auto unveiled its first concept supercar, the Xiaomi Vision GranTurismo, which was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona from March 2 to 5 to demonstrate the company’s technological capabilities and enhance its brand influence. Xiaomi has clearly identified Europe as the first overseas market for its automotive business and plans to officially enter the region in 2027. The company has already established an automotive R&D center in Munich, Germany, and its vehicles, including the SU7, have drawn growing international attention, with an increasing number of review videos appearing online. Additionally, Xiaomi intends to expand its "Human-Car-Home" ecosystem stores in the UK to 150 locations over the next four years to strengthen its local presence. Despite entering the market relatively late, Xiaomi is well-positioned for a strong start, leveraging its existing smartphone business foundation in Europe and product competitiveness. In the long term, building local manufacturing facilities to secure production capacity and reduce costs will be a critical challenge. Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder, aims to rank Xiaomi among the world’s top five automakers, targeting annual sales exceeding 10 million vehicles—with Europe seen as a crucial component in achieving this ambitious goal.
