XPeng Inc. announced a major breakthrough in its second-generation VLA (Vehicle Language Architecture), a fully in-house developed full-stack architecture, marking the initial application phase of Level 4 autonomous driving. The new architecture adopts a simplified "V-A" model and, combined with XPeng's self-developed Turing chip, enables a shift from rule-based programming to an "AI-training-AI" paradigm. Chairman He Xiaopeng stated that the company has recommended accelerating the formulation of L4-related regulations and noted that recent policy developments by the United Nations and the U.S. will drive autonomous driving from regional pilots toward global industrialization. Beyond intelligent vehicles, the second-generation VLA will also be extended to Robotaxis, flying cars, and humanoid robots. According to a Morgan Stanley report, this move positions XPeng to directly compete with Tesla in the global market and potentially reshape the landscape of the intelligent vehicle industry.
