Recently, a sales representative from a BMW dealership sparked widespread online debate after disparaging Xiaomi's electric vehicles during a live stream, referring to them as "coarse grains" and using derogatory remarks to question their quality and safety. The salesperson even claimed, "I wouldn't dare drive a car built in just 180 days," and added, "Whenever I see a Xiaomi car owner, I feel like stepping on their car just to see what it looks like." In response, Xiaomi executive Pan Jiutang publicly addressed the incident, stating that BMW is a great automaker and noting that many of his friends and family members are BMW owners. He emphasized that truly wise individuals remain open-minded and committed to continuous learning. Pan highlighted that since its launch, Xiaomi's vehicle has drawn visits from senior executives of multiple European, Japanese, Korean, and luxury automotive brands, with some expressing interest in potential collaboration. Pan urged the public to test-drive and compare vehicles themselves, asserting that the true merits of a car should be judged based on real-world driving experiences and feedback from actual owners.
