Recently, Brad, a car owner in Mississippi, discovered that brake pads he purchased from AutoZone didn’t fit his Mitsubishi vehicle while attempting to replace them himself. He shared his experience on TikTok, explaining that he only realized the newly bought brake pads were incompatible with his car after disassembling the braking system. Further investigation revealed that not only AutoZone but also other local auto parts stores like O'Reilly didn’t carry the correct type of brake pads for his specific model. Brad admitted that if he hadn’t stopped to double-check in time, he might have wrongly blamed the store staff. Many commenters noted that aftermarket parts for certain Asian vehicles have always been hard to find, and post-pandemic supply chain issues in the auto parts industry have only made the situation worse. Similar problems have previously been reported on Reddit and Mitsubishi owner forums, with many drivers ultimately forced to purchase OEM parts from dealerships. Motor1 has reached out to both Brad and Mitsubishi for comment but has not yet received a response.
