Dongfeng Motor-led development of the domestically produced high-performance automotive-grade MCU chip DF30 has completed full vehicle validation and is steadily advancing toward mass production and deployment in vehicles. The chip has already been integrated into engine ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and successfully tested on models including the Dongfeng Yipai 007, M-Hero M817, and Dongfeng Aeolus HaoHan. As the control center of the engine, the ECU relies on the MCU for real-time computation and command output, making its performance directly critical to overall vehicle operational safety. Built on an independently developed open-source RISC-V multi-core architecture and manufactured using domestic 40nm automotive-grade process technology, the DF30 is China’s first high-performance automotive-grade MCU chip to achieve a fully localized, closed-loop supply chain across the entire industrial chain. The chip has passed 295 rigorous tests, achieved ASIL-D functional safety certification, and is compatible with the domestically developed AutoSAR automotive software operating system. Officially launched in November 2024, the DF30 had already completed its first tape-out validation around April 2024, marking a fully domestic closed-loop from design to manufacturing.
