FAW-Volkswagen has officially launched the all-new Talagon, positioning it in the mid-to-large SUV segment with a spacious five-seat layout. The vehicle measures 5,007 mm in length, 2,015 mm in width, and 1,778 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,980 mm, offering ample shoulder, leg, and headroom for three passengers in the rear seat. Powering the Talagon is the fifth-generation EA888 2.0T engine. The high-output variant delivers a maximum power of 200 kW and peak torque of 400 N·m, paired with a DQ501 seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 7 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with the IQ.Pilot enhanced driver assistance system, developed over seven years and specifically optimized for Chinese road conditions. Its hardware suite includes five millimeter-wave radars, six cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and a binocular stereo vision system. The system supports Highway NOA functionality across a speed range of 0–120 km/h, enabling automated features such as adaptive cruise control, lane changes, overtaking maneuvers, ramp entry/exit, and navigation through high-curvature corners, with automatic speed adjustments based on route guidance. In urban driving scenarios, the system offers cut-in prevention assistance and can detect and avoid irregular obstacles—such as traffic cones and non-motorized vehicles—by actively steering around them or initiating emergency braking. Additionally, the PLA 3.0 automated parking system supports both parallel and perpendicular parking, handling both parking-in and parking-out maneuvers automatically.
