McLaren plans to unveil its long-term strategic roadmap in the summer of 2024. The brand's future direction had remained unclear following its sale in 2024 and the appointment of new CEO Mike Collings last year. Collings stated that the company will begin sharing broader plans this summer, including details on a new generation of internal combustion engine sports cars and the long-rumored SUV. The strategy announcement is expected to coincide with the start of deliveries for the W1 hypercar. The first new model under this plan will debut as a concept car and enter production later this year. McLaren has previously confirmed it is developing a next-generation gasoline-powered sports car—potentially a successor to the current 750S—and intends to expand into "new product segments." The most anticipated addition is the internally codenamed "P47" SUV, reportedly a five-seat plug-in hybrid with proportions similar to the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. Regarding fully electric vehicles, McLaren indicated it will introduce them once customer demand matures, noting that EVs are not currently a priority. Further details are expected to be revealed this summer.
