SmartSens has launched the SC126AT, a newly upgraded 1.3MP automotive-grade CMOS image sensor (CIS). Built on the CARSens®-XR Plus technology platform and featuring a single-pixel architecture, the SC126AT integrates SFCPixel® and PixGain HDR® technologies to deliver high sensitivity, high dynamic range, low noise, and on-chip ISP functionality. The SC126AT achieves a peak quantum efficiency of 83% at the 520nm visible light wavelength—approximately 11% higher than its predecessor—enabling clear imaging even in low-light conditions. It employs PixGain HDR®+VS three-frame HDR technology, supporting a maximum dynamic range of up to 120dB, making it ideal for high-contrast scenarios such as tunnel entrances/exits and underground parking garage access points. Compliant with the ISO 26262 ASIL-B functional safety standard for automotive applications, the SC126AT is fully domestically developed and manufactured, striking an optimal balance between performance and cost. It is well-suited for surround-view and rear-view automotive camera systems. Together with its siblings—the SC226AT and SC326AT—the SC126AT forms a comprehensive, high-performance, domestically produced automotive CIS solution covering surround, front, and rear views. Sample units of the SC126AT are now available, with mass production scheduled for Q2 2026.
