On April 9, NIO unveiled its new flagship SUV, the ES9. Featuring a six-seat layout, the vehicle outperforms four mainstream MPV models—priced between RMB 400,000 and RMB 1 million—in key metrics such as ease of entry and exit, interior passenger space, and trunk cargo capacity. In eight core comparison categories, the ES9 ranked first in seven and second in one. NIO stated that the ES9 delivers an MPV-like spaciousness while retaining the SUV’s ground clearance and driving dynamics, making it ideal for premium family and business travel scenarios.
