FAW Audi has recently completed the generational update of its A6L model, lowering the official starting price from RMB 427,900 to RMB 322,900—a reduction of RMB 100,000. Simultaneously, the brand launched an all-electric variant, the A6L e-tron, with a pre-sale price of RMB 313,000, which is RMB 10,000 lower than the entry-level gasoline version. The new A6L offers two exterior design styles: the Sport model features a blacked-out honeycomb grille, while the Elegant model comes with a chrome horizontal-bar grille. For the first time, it introduces semi-recessed door handles and offers wheel sizes up to 21 inches. Inside, the cabin incorporates design elements commonly seen in new-energy vehicles and features a “five-screen” layout. Under the hood, the powertrain has been upgraded to the fifth-generation EA888 evo engine, delivering increased horsepower across the entire lineup. A new mild-hybrid variant is also available, with optional rear-wheel steering and air suspension. The A6L e-tron is built on an 800V high-voltage architecture and equipped with a 107 kWh ternary lithium battery from CATL, offering a maximum CLTC-rated range of 815 kilometers. The single-motor version delivers a peak output of 265 kW, while the dual-motor variant reaches 405 kW. Its exterior design differs significantly from the gasoline-powered A6L, though the interior remains largely consistent.
