The locally produced BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase has made its debut in the latest vehicle registration catalog published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The new model retains the overseas design, featuring Digital Angel Wing daytime running lights and a 3D Luminous Kidney Grille, and is available in nine exterior color options. With dimensions of 4,885 mm (length) × 1,895 mm (width) × 1,635 mm (height) and a wheelbase of 3,005 mm—108 mm longer than the standard-wheelbase version—the added length is entirely dedicated to enhancing rear passenger space. The vehicle also features China-exclusive semi-recessed door handles with a “triple safety redundancy” design. Inside, the cabin adopts BMW’s latest design language, including the Panoramic Vision Bridge, the Neue Klasse Operating System X, and the Horizon Panoramic Display. It integrates BMW’s customized Large Language Model (LLM) technology, DeepSeek’s AI large model capabilities, and AI agents, while supporting digital services such as HarmonyOS and HUAWEI HiCar. A panoramic, integrated sunroof with UV protection is also included. Under the hood, the locally built iX3 is equipped with BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive electric drive technology, combining a front asynchronous motor and a rear excited synchronous motor. It delivers a maximum output of 345 kW and peak torque of 645 N·m, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds. The vehicle uses a 108 kWh cylindrical battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range exceeding 900 kilometers on a single charge, with an official energy consumption of 15.1 kWh per 100 km. Built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, it can recover approximately 427 kilometers of range with just 10 minutes of charging.
