On April 12, GAC Group officially unveiled its next-generation intelligent hybrid technology, covering both plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and an enhanced oil-electric hybrid system (HEV⁺). The new PHEV system features a highly integrated hybrid architecture combined with co-optimized hardware and software, delivering wheel-end total torque exceeding 10,000 N·m for all-wheel-drive models, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds, and offering full adaptability across all terrains and driving scenarios. In terms of energy efficiency, the system leverages GAC’s proprietary AI-powered energy management platform, a lightweight hybrid transmission, and an optimized combustion engine, enabling vehicles with a curb weight of approximately 2 tons to achieve fuel consumption as low as 3 liters per 100 kilometers. Meanwhile, GAC’s HEV⁺ oil-electric hybrid technology builds upon traditional advantages—such as no need for charging, zero range anxiety, and low fuel consumption—and introduces, for the first time in oil-electric hybrids, the intelligent user experience typically found in pure electric vehicles. This technology incorporates an industry-first high-rate, high-capacity safety battery, resolving the longstanding challenge of traditional oil-electric hybrid systems struggling to support high electrical loads. Drivers can now enjoy near-EV levels of cabin quietness while driving and access features previously limited to new energy vehicles, including extended-duration power supply while parked, Sentry Mode, and seamless over-the-air (OTA) vehicle updates.
