As of March 2026, Vietnamese automaker VinFast became the second-best-selling pure electric vehicle (EV) brand in the Philippine market. Local dealers reported strong demand for its compact model, the VF3. On March 28, 2026, the company received 3,520 EV orders in a single day for immediate delivery, driven largely by government policies encouraging fuel-powered vehicle owners to switch to EVs and rising fuel prices. To expand its presence in Southeast Asia, VinFast has launched EV leasing programs in Indonesia and the Philippines, featuring the HerioGreen and LimoGreen models. The initiative initially covers Greater Jakarta and Metro Manila. Drivers can lease vehicles through authorized dealers, with starting monthly lease rates of IDR 312,500 in Indonesia and PHP 1,000 in the Philippines. Buyers also have access to low-down-payment financing options, and drivers participating in the leasing program receive complimentary charging services. VinFast’s Vice President of Global Automotive Sales stated that this move aims to accelerate the green transition in commercial transportation and support drivers in shifting toward sustainable livelihoods. Additionally, VinFast’s parent company, Vingroup, is running a “swap your ICE vehicle for an EV” program and promotional campaigns for electric mobility services in Indonesia to boost EV adoption.
