Despite a temporary ceasefire agreement in the Middle East, gasoline prices across many parts of the United States remain high. Data show that prices commonly reach $5 per gallon from Las Vegas to Seattle, and frequently exceed $6 per gallon in cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. The American Automobile Association (AAA) noted that gasoline prices above $4 per gallon could become the new normal, and even if the ceasefire holds, prices are unlikely to drop significantly in the short term. As a result, American consumers have already spent billions of dollars extra on fuel.
