On April 9, 2024, XinYuan Automobile held a technology launch event in Fuling, Chongqing, under the theme “Practical Technology, Evolving Upward,” officially unveiling its all-new “Stellar Origin Platform” and the first vehicle built on this platform—the Upward V6. Developed to passenger car standards, the platform emphasizes high safety, high reliability, high quality, and high scalability, aiming to meet users’ practical needs for dignity, comfort, and peace of mind. The Stellar Origin Platform features a modular design supporting four powertrain configurations: EV (electric vehicle), PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), ICE (internal combustion engine), and CNG (compressed natural gas). It is adaptable for both left-hand and right-hand drive markets, enabling global vehicle development. Its integrated safety system combines the body, seats, and chassis into a unified structure. The manufacturing process incorporates fully automated production lines and an AI-powered quality monitoring system. At the event, XinYuan announced the establishment of a joint venture with White Rhino Auto to advance the implementation of practical intelligent technologies, with both parties focusing on autonomous logistics scenarios. The White Rhino RX autonomous logistics vehicle made its debut alongside the announcement. Additionally, XinYuan signed a cooperation agreement with Huawei, which will provide deep support in smart manufacturing to help realize “practical smart manufacturing technologies” across production lines, products, and user experiences. Gong Daxing, Chairman of XinYuan Group, stated that the company adheres to the principle of “practical technology as the foundation and contributors as the core.” He also unveiled the “Upward Action Manifesto,” pledging to address user needs with genuinely reliable products and services. This launch marks XinYuan’s strategic shift from a traditional vehicle manufacturer to an open technology ecosystem platform, focusing on the multi-purpose vehicle segment, filling the gap in passenger-like commercial vehicles, and driving collaborative upgrades across regional supply chains.
