The 2026 FAW Hongqi HQ9 officially launched on May 20, offering three variants: Luxury at RMB 338,800, Prestige at RMB 388,800, and Flagship at RMB 538,800. The vehicle features a vertical-slat grille at the front and full-width LED taillights at the rear. It measures 5,222 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width, and 1,935 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,200 mm. Powering the HQ9 is a plug-in hybrid system combining a 2.0T engine and an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum output of 120 kW and is paired with a 40 kWh battery, enabling a pure-electric CLTC range of 220 km and a combined range of up to 1,200 km. The body structure adopts a 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength 9H cage design and includes 70.8-liter side curtain airbags covering all three rows of seats. A new Sentry Mode provides 24/7 surveillance when the vehicle is locked, automatically recording video and sending alerts to the user’s smartphone in case of scratches, collisions, or window break-ins. Inside, the cabin is equipped with automotive-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chips, dual 15.6-inch 2.5K high-resolution screens, and a 21.4-inch 3K ultra-high-definition ceiling-mounted screen. The latter supports stepless tilt adjustment up to 75° and features four-level anti-pinch protection. The onboard refrigerator offers a 9.3-liter capacity with temperature control ranging from -5°C to 50°C, supporting remote operation via smartphone and continuous 24-hour power supply.
