Ferrari officially unveiled its first all-electric road car, the Ferrari Luce (Italian for "light"), in the early hours of May 26. The vehicle was designed under the leadership of former Apple design chief Jony Ive and his design firm LoveFrom, with a starting price of €550,000 in the Italian market. Built on a dedicated EV platform, the Luce features a strikingly different appearance from previous Ferrari models and boasts the lowest drag coefficient ever achieved by a Ferrari road car. It is equipped with an active grille and tunnel-shaped front and rear diffusers. As Ferrari’s first five-seater, the Luce adopts a fastback silhouette, with a large expanse of Corning glass covering the roof and windshield wipers parked vertically beside the A-pillars. Inside, the cabin emphasizes simplicity, eschewing an all-touch interface in favor of a blend of physical buttons and OLED displays. The steering wheel ditches the touchpad found on the earlier Purosangue model, returning instead to a layout featuring physical controls. Under the hood—or rather, beneath the floor—the Luce is powered by four electric motors delivering a combined peak output of 1,035 horsepower. It features individual motors at each wheel, along with four-wheel independent active suspension and rear-wheel steering. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h. The battery pack, designed and manufactured in-house by Ferrari, has a capacity of 122 kWh and operates on an 800-volt electrical architecture. Standard equipment includes the active suspension system derived from the F80 hypercar, as well as four-wheel steering.
