BYD recently launched an urban navigation-assisted driving option package priced at RMB 12,000, available for its Seagull model—priced around RMB 70,000—which includes advanced sensors such as LiDAR. The company also announced it would assume full liability for any traffic accidents caused by this intelligent driving system. BYD unveiled its self-developed 4-nanometer automotive-grade intelligent driving chip, “Xuanji A3,” claiming it as China’s first chip of its kind. BYD completed the entire development process—from specification and design to wafer fabrication, packaging, and testing—internally. The company stated this achievement grants it full-chain autonomy in chip supply, enabling stable production even during industry-wide chip shortages and helping reduce the cost of intelligent driving systems. Technologically, BYD has integrated intelligent cockpit, autonomous driving, and electric drive systems into a unified central computing platform based on its “Xuanji Architecture 2.0,” reducing data latency to just 8 microseconds. According to data from its “Eyes of God 5.0” system, over 50% of user driving mileage now involves assisted driving, highway navigation usage reaches 90%, and smart parking utilization has surged from 21% to 93%. The accident rate during system operation remains nearly zero.
