India's Tata Motors plans to acquire a full vehicle manufacturing platform license from China's Chery Automobile to advance the launch of its premium electric vehicle project, the Avinya series. The project, which had previously faced delays, aims to get back on track through this collaboration. According to informed sources, Tata will produce at least two Avinya models locally in India based on Chery’s vehicle platform, with the first model expected to hit the market in 2027. Founded in 1945, Tata Motors is India’s largest integrated automotive company and commercial vehicle manufacturer, and is part of the Tata Group.
