On June 3, 2026, an incident involving an Aito M9 vehicle occurred in Zeguo Town, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. No injuries were reported. According to the investigation, an electric delivery van lost its motor while driving, and the Aito M9 driver failed to notice the detached metal component in time, resulting in a scrape between the vehicle and the part. After the initial impact, the M9 continued driving for several hundred meters, causing the dislodged motor to puncture the battery pack’s protective plate and ignite a fire, which was subsequently extinguished. On-site verification confirmed that the M9’s triad electric system (battery, motor, and electronic control) was functioning normally prior to the incident, with no other internal abnormalities detected. Footage from a third-party dashcam showed that as the M9 passed over the detached motor, it suffered a severe impact that lifted the front of the vehicle off the ground; however, the driver did not stop immediately to inspect the car. The accident was caused by an external object collision and was not attributable to any fault of the vehicle itself.
