In 2025, BMW achieved vehicle sales of 388,897 units in the North American market, up 4.7% year-over-year, marking its third consecutive year of growth despite a decline in fourth-quarter deliveries. Notably, all-electric vehicle (BEV) sales for the full year fell to 42,484 units, down 16.7% year-over-year, with a sharp 45.5% drop recorded in the fourth quarter alone. Meanwhile, demand for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) remained strong, with sales reaching 25,351 units—a substantial 30.7% increase year-over-year. SUV models performed exceptionally well, with the all-new X3 and X5 together accounting for nearly 40% of BMW’s U.S. sales. Total X-series models surpassed 250,000 units sold, underscoring the critical role of BMW’s Spartanburg plant.
