BMW's Leipzig plant in Germany set a new production record in 2025, manufacturing 259,430 vehicles—accounting for roughly one-quarter of BMW’s total German output, which exceeded one million units. Operating on a three-shift system, the facility reaches peak daily output of 1,300 vehicles. Since commencing production in 2005, cumulative output at the Leipzig plant surpassed the 4-million mark in December 2025, with the 4-millionth vehicle being a BMW 1 Series 120 model finished in Anglesey Green. Currently, the Leipzig plant simultaneously produces the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, and the MINI Countryman, making it the first BMW Group facility to share a production line for both BMW and MINI brands. Looking ahead, production of the 2 Series Active Tourer is scheduled to end in October 2027, while the 1 Series (F70) and 2 Series Gran Coupé (F74) will continue through the end of 2032.
