BYD's new sub-brand "Linghui" recently made its official debut in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) 403rd batch of vehicle announcements, unveiling its dedicated logo alongside four new models: the e5, e7, e9, and M9. The brand targets the B2B mobility market, focusing specifically on ride-hailing and taxi operations. Built on proven platforms such as the Qin PLUS EV and Han, these models balance reliability with cost efficiency: the e5 is positioned as an entry-level sedan for commercial use; the e9 caters to mid-to-high-end demand; the M9 is a plug-in hybrid MPV with a wheelbase exceeding 3 meters; and the e7 fills a gap in the mid-segment market. Linghui’s launch strengthens BYD’s multi-brand strategy by clearly differentiating between personal consumer and commercial mobility markets. Leveraging the group’s advantages—including a projected global sales target of over 4.6 million vehicles by 2025 and ongoing technology democratization (such as the fifth-generation DM-i system and second-generation Blade Battery)—Linghui accelerates BYD’s expansion into a comprehensive, all-scenario mobility ecosystem.
