According to the latest new energy vehicle catalog released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the BYD Denza Z9 EV is equipped with a 122.496 kWh battery pack, delivering a maximum CLTC-rated range of 1,068 kilometers. The Z9 GT shooting brake variant offers up to 1,036 km of range, while the tri-motor version achieves 860 km. Even when adjusted for real-world highway driving—typically reducing range to 60–70% of the CLTC figure—the actual range still reaches approximately 700 km, surpassing that of most gasoline-powered vehicles. Meanwhile, BYD is rapidly deploying megawatt ultra-fast charging stations with peak power exceeding 1,000 kW. These chargers can replenish over 400 km of range in just five minutes and fully charge the 122 kWh battery pack in under 20 minutes. In contrast to NIO’s 150 kWh battery pack—which costs as much as RMB 300,000 and is available only via lease—BYD’s self-developed battery technology positions it to drive widespread adoption of high-capacity batteries, further alleviating consumers’ range and charging anxieties.
