Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently reaffirmed that the company’s electric Semi truck will begin high-volume production in 2024. First unveiled in 2017, the Semi only started deliveries in December 2022, with cumulative deliveries reaching approximately 100 units by the end of 2023, reflecting limited production capacity so far. To boost output, Tesla announced in January 2024 that it would build a new factory dedicated exclusively to Semi production in Nevada, with a planned annual capacity of 50,000 units. According to prior reports from international media, the exterior construction of the facility is largely complete, and internal equipment installation is currently underway. With the new plant expected to come online later this year, Semi deliveries are poised for a significant increase, meaning more Tesla electric trucks will soon be seen on roads.
