On February 10, Gotion High-Tech and BASF signed a strategic cooperation memorandum in Hefei to jointly develop next-generation solid-state battery technologies, with a focus on collaborative R&D of high-performance core materials. Leveraging Gotion High-Tech’s experience in solid-state battery industrialization and BASF’s deep expertise in materials science, the partnership aims to overcome key technological bottlenecks hindering the commercialization of solid-state batteries. The two companies will also work together to advance the global market application of their R&D outcomes across multiple sectors, including new energy vehicles and energy storage. Dr. Jianfeng Lou, President of BASF Greater China, stated that BASF will support sustainable material solutions through its global technology platform. Li Zhen, Chairman of Gotion High-Tech, emphasized that solid-state battery industrialization must be grounded in materials science, noting that this collaboration marks an upgraded phase in their 13-year partnership to jointly accelerate technological maturity and industry development.
