On February 11, BMW Group announced a global recall of multiple vehicle models due to a safety hazard identified in the starter motor. In some vehicles, repeated engine starts may cause abnormal wear in the electromagnetic switch inside the starter motor. This issue could not only lead to difficulty starting or failure to start the engine but also potentially cause localized overheating due to short circuits, posing a fire risk. BMW has initiated the relevant recall procedures to address this potential safety concern.
