Affected by the Spring Festival holiday, auto sales entered their traditional off-season in February. The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) noted that this year’s Spring Festival holiday lasted nine days—the longest in history—and that February had only 16 working days, three fewer than the same period in 2025. Most automakers scheduled additional annual leave around the holiday, significantly shortening the effective production and sales window. As a result, February vehicle sales are expected to hit their lowest level of the year, though this will help alleviate inventory pressure at dealerships.
