The 69-year-old car enthusiast, who has long participated in motorsport activities under the pseudonym "Morizo," is a key driving force behind the GR performance sub-brand. Although he didn’t name specific models, he likely includes the GR86, Supra, and the all-new GT in his dream lineup. GR now operates independently, underscoring Toyota’s commitment to continuing sports car development. Additionally, rumors suggest a next-generation Celica could soon debut, while Lexus is reportedly working on an all-electric supercar—the spiritual successor to the LFA. Nevertheless, Toyoda himself remains partial to internal combustion engines, acknowledging that although GR models cater to a niche audience, they enhance the brand’s image and help boost sales of mainstream vehicles.
