The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently issued a revised version of the "Requirements for Access Review of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," stipulating that, effective January 1, 2027, all new vehicle models must pass reliability validation tests before market launch. Conventional internal combustion engine vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles must complete testing of no less than 30,000 kilometers, in accordance with standards GB/T 12678–2021 and GB/T 19750–2005, respectively. Battery electric vehicles must undergo 15,000 kilometers of testing under standard GB/T 18388–2005. The new regulation aims to establish a unified industry baseline for testing, prevent automakers from cutting corners on reliability validation, and genuinely enhance vehicle safety and quality to protect consumer rights.
