The Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court in the Netherlands recently ruled to launch a formal investigation into Nexperia and uphold interim measures effective from October 2025, including the suspension of Chinese CEO Zhang Xuezheng and the continuation of duties by an interim European management team. The investigation will be conducted by two independent investigators and may last over six months. Parent company Wingtech expressed being "extremely disappointed," stating that the ruling harms its operations and the stability of the global supply chain, and emphasized it would safeguard its rights through legal means. On February 13, China’s Ministry of Commerce responded, urging the Dutch side to act in the interest of maintaining stability in the global semiconductor industry chain and create conditions conducive to resolving the dispute through negotiations between the two companies. Nexperia’s products are widely used in critical automotive components, and the ongoing dispute over its control has already disrupted production at automakers such as Honda and Mercedes-Benz.
