According to the latest report from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Tesla is still actively working on integrating Apple CarPlay into its vehicle infotainment systems. The main obstacle currently lies in compatibility issues between Apple Maps within CarPlay and Tesla’s native map application—when both run simultaneously, turn-by-turn navigation prompts fail to sync properly, potentially degrading the user experience. To address this, Tesla has requested engineering-level modifications from Apple, which have already been implemented in a bug-fix update for iOS 26. Although earlier reports suggested CarPlay support could launch within a few months, Tesla has not yet announced a specific timeline and is likely waiting for iOS 26 adoption rates to increase further before officially rolling out the feature.
