George Saliba, owner of JS Autohaus in New Jersey, recently spoke out on TikTok, stating that a BMW X6 he purchased from Prime Motors LLC in Virginia was immediately seized by police on grounds that it was stolen. Saliba emphasized that the transaction was strictly between licensed dealers and that neither party knew the vehicle was stolen. Under standard industry practice and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the seller is responsible for title defects and should repurchase the vehicle—but Prime Motors has yet to respond. With 1.2 million followers on social media, Saliba is urging his audience to pressure the dealership to “do the right thing.” Some commenters speculate the vehicle may be involved in VIN cloning (fraudulent alteration of the vehicle identification number). Virginia maintains a dealer surety bond program, which could potentially provide recourse for recovery. The vehicle is currently believed to be in the custody of New Jersey law enforcement.
