Ferrari’s first all-electric model, the Luce—co-designed by former Apple Chief Design Officer Jonathan Ive and designer Marc Newson—is set to debut officially in May. The new vehicle is a four-door, four-seat grand tourer equipped with a 1,000-horsepower quad-motor system and features a ride height similar to that of the Purosangue. Ive revealed that the Luce boasts a strong sense of proportion and volume, with bold, radical styling both inside and out, emphasizing a cohesive design language he described as “without fragmentation.” He admitted that unveiling the design publicly was anxiety-inducing, given Ferrari’s storied heritage and high public expectations. Newson noted that the dedicated EV platform granted the team unprecedented creative freedom, enabling breakthroughs in both spatial layout and visual expression. Although the car remains heavily camouflaged for now, consistent design cues run throughout, aiming for a pure, minimalist, and unified aesthetic. The project has received strong backing from Ferrari shareholder Piero Ferrari.
