Mercedes-Benz is accelerating testing of its new entry-level G-Class model, dubbed the "Little G." Built on a dedicated platform, the vehicle will be offered in both all-electric and internal combustion engine variants and is expected to launch officially next year. Spy photos reveal that the electric version features a battery structure integrated into the lower rear section, while retaining the G-Class’s iconic boxy silhouette, three-side window design, and externally mounted spare tire cover—though the latter will now house charging cables instead. A newly added roof rack enhances its outdoor practicality. Styling-wise, the "Little G" adopts semi-circular headlights and maintains the classic G-Class profile, but with sharper lines and more youthful details. Markus Schäfer, former head of development, emphasized that to preserve the G-Class heritage, nearly the entire structure of the new model has been re-engineered from the ground up, without borrowing from any existing platform. The design team affirmed that despite its more modern aesthetic, the "Little G" remains a true, authentic G-Class off-roader.
