BMW M is planning to launch up to 30 new models within the next two and a half years, spanning high-performance M cars and M Performance variants. These will include the all-electric i3 M equipped with a quad-motor powertrain, along with the updated M5, M5 Touring, all-new M3, and iX3 M. Additionally, M or M Performance versions of the next-generation X5, X6, X7, and the updated 7 Series are also in the pipeline. Frank van Meel, CEO of BMW M, stated that despite accelerating electrification, the M division will continue offering six- and eight-cylinder engines to meet the needs of customers who have not yet transitioned to electric vehicles. Manual transmissions, valued for their emotional appeal, will remain available—but maintaining them will become increasingly challenging due to limited market scale and supplier support.
