In response to user dissatisfaction over excessive reliance on touchscreens and new safety regulations in regions such as Europe and China, Polestar has announced it will reintroduce physical buttons and knobs in future models. Philipp Römers, Head of Design at the brand, confirmed that upcoming vehicles—including the Polestar 3 and 4—will feature more physical controls and offer a wider selection of interior colors and materials, moving beyond the current monotonous palette limited to gray, white, and black. Polestar will continue using the Android Automotive operating system but enhance its personalization features. This move is part of the company’s “largest product offensive ever,” which includes a refreshed Polestar 2, an upgraded Polestar 4, and the all-new Polestar 7. The previously scheduled Polestar 6 launch this year has now been postponed.
