Tesla's first vehicle specifically designed for its autonomous ride-hailing service, the Cybercab, recently rolled off the production line at the company's Gigafactory in Texas and is set to enter mass production in April. The vehicle eliminates the steering wheel, pedals, and side mirrors, featuring a two-seat layout and relying entirely on Tesla Vision and an end-to-end neural network for full self-driving capability—without requiring expensive hardware like LiDAR. According to Tesla staff, the Cybercab will be priced at no more than $30,000 (approximately RMB 207,000), targeting commercial mobility use cases. The estimated fare is $0.20 per mile (about RMB 0.89 per kilometer)—just one-fifth of typical commuting costs—and passengers need only input their destination to be driven there automatically.
