Spy photos of Audi's all-new all-electric SUV, the A2 e-tron, have recently surfaced during road testing. Positioned as the brand’s smallest electric SUV, it is expected to launch in 2025 with a starting price below €35,000 (approximately RMB 285,000). The design pays homage to the iconic 1999 A2, retaining its upright body profile and split rear window. The front fascia features elongated daytime running lights, with the main headlights relocated down into the bumper. Inside, the cabin heavily borrows components from the new Q3, including a wide digital instrument cluster, a squircle-shaped steering wheel, and column-mounted stalks. It also comes equipped with an AI-powered voice assistant supporting streaming media, sustainable interior materials, and customizable ambient lighting. Built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the base model will feature a single motor producing 150 kW and a 63 kWh battery, delivering an estimated WLTP range of around 402 km. A higher-spec single-motor variant will exceed 200 kW and use a larger battery, potentially pushing the WLTP range beyond 560 km. Additionally, a dual-motor quattro all-wheel-drive version will be offered—and there are even rumors of a high-performance RS variant. In Europe, the A2 e-tron will replace both the A1 and Q2, slotting below the Q4 e-tron in Audi’s lineup.
