BYD has recently begun large-scale installation of its new megawatt ultra-fast charging stations across the country. Featuring a distinctive cyan exterior and a unique "T"-shaped structure, these chargers are highly recognizable. The charging cables hang down from both ends of the "T" shape, effectively eliminating the issue of long cables dragging on the ground seen in traditional setups. Additionally, a sliding rail at the top enhances user convenience during operation. The ultra-fast charger supports 1,000V voltage and 1,000A current, delivering a peak power output of 1,000kW. According to BYD, it enables "5 minutes of charging for 400 kilometers of range"—equivalent to "2 kilometers per second," the fastest charging speed currently available in mass-produced vehicles worldwide. Previously, BYD announced plans to build over 4,000 megawatt ultra-fast charging stations, accelerating the expansion of its high-voltage fast-charging network.
