BMW North America is recalling 58,713 vehicles, including the 2025 M5 Sport Wagon, 2025–2026 M5 models, and 2024–2025 750e xDrive sedans. The recall, announced by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), stems from a risk that the electrical wiring harness in the air conditioning system could be damaged during replacement of the cabin air filter, potentially causing a short circuit and increasing the risk of fire. BMW will repair or replace the affected components free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard.
